Scholé Studio
Our Mission
At the Scholé Studio, our mission is to nurture the unique gifts of each student through the thoughtful integration of Classical Christian education and specialized learning support. Our experienced educators understand that every child's path to wisdom is distinct, requiring both excellence and grace in their journey.
We create an atmosphere of restful learning where students can grow at their own pace, guided by teachers who model peace, tranquility, and genuine love for all of the students and their subjects. Through careful differentiation and collaborative partnerships between educators, families, and students, we meet each child where they are while gently guiding them toward their full potential.
Our approach combines Classical Christian principles, seeking after truth, goodness, and beauty, paired with evidence-based learning strategies, ensuring that education is neither frenetic nor mundane, but rather engaging and meaningful. We believe that when learning within a community is properly paced and personally tailored, it becomes not just memorable but transformative.
Through intentional collaboration and specialized support, we enable our students to engage deeply with their studies, develop essential skills, and flourish in their academic journey, fostering a love of learning that will serve them throughout their lives.
About Scholè Studio
In 2000, Mark and Teri Muir had a vision to establish the best educational program to integrate students with High-Functioning Autism and students with learning differences into the mainstream classroom with individualized special education services in a Christian setting.
With the original vision clearly within sight, School Within A School has transitioned to The Scholé Studio.
The VCA Scholé Studio offers a unique approach to teaching and learning that is designed to offer a sound, engaging, and thoroughly Classical, Christian education at a more measured pace for students who need additional support and attention. Scholé Studio is the best of Christ-centered, Classical learning woven into restful learning (hence the Latin word scholé). The ultimate goal of the Scholé Studio at Veritas is the same as all teaching and learning at VCA. We desire for all of our students to mature in wisdom and eloquence while engaging the true, good, and beautiful.
Scholé Studio employs one full-time administrator/teacher and one specialized Scholé teacher at each school. The curriculum is thoroughly guided by Classical Christian form and content and will be experienced by each student at a measured pace.
A key change: Scholé Studio student schedules! The norm is that our Scholé students will have their classes for their grade/age/ability level meetings with their class. Each student will attend homeroom, specials (PE, Music, and Art), lunch, breaks, field trips, and all whole grade/class gatherings such as chapel with their age-appropriate peers.
Due to the restructuring of student placement, classes, and teachers, we now only charge a nominal fee of $500 per student, per year for Scholé services. The former tier system has been removed.
