POSITIONS FOR 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR
Job Title: Facility Assistant
Objective:
To ensure the safe and efficient operation of VCA’s physical plant and grounds and to maintain the property in such a manner as to reflect a positive image to the entire Veritas community and the public in general.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Facility Manager

Assist in the maintenance of all buildings and grounds.

Inspect playground facilities on a regular basis and make repairs as necessary to ensure safety (work order generated twice a year).

Supervise, schedule, and monitor outside services as directed by the Facility Manager.

Maintain buses (work order generated every two weeks).
-
Assist the Facility Manager to maintain effective and timely communication with faculty and administrative staff to ensure that the facilities are maintained in good condition and order.

Order parts or items needed for jobs or repairs - single expenditures over $250.00 should be pre-approved by the Facility Manager.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with local governmental officials (i.e. police, firefighters)

Keep work orders and Tikkit up to date and follow the daily work list provided by the Facility Manager.

Assist in the car rider line in the mornings and afternoons.

Maintain office, shop, storage areas. Provide assistance to the cleaning crew as needed.

Lawn and grounds maintenance.

Check all emergency lights and fire extinguishers monthly (work order generated every month).

Work special events and programs as assigned by the Facility Manager.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS AND BUS DRIVERS
We are seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2024-2025 School Year. Substitute Teachers receive a competitive daily rate and have the opportunity to serve with the most incredible faculty in Western North Carolina!
We are also seeking bus drivers to assist us with taking our students on field trips, sporting events, etc. Bus Drivers are required to have a Class B CDL License with a “P” endorsement. Veritas Christian Academy will reimburse the cost of the license and endorsements. We pay $13.00 per hour for all bus drivers and guarantee a minimum of three hours for any event.
