High School Spiritual Life
Veritas Christian Academy hosts chapel services and small groups on a regular basis so that the students grow in relationship to God and one another. Recognizing that these goals are as important as any academic goal, the school uses these alternating chapels and small groups to challenge and teach the students both corporately and individually. Typically, a small group consists of ten students and one teacher and occurs every other week. Chapel services are then held on the alternating weeks.
In the chapel services, a student band leads the school in a series of hymns and praise songs, and then a faculty member gives a short address. The chapel services and small groups for a year all focus on one theme, which could be anything from a book of the Bible to a spiritual discipline. While the chapel services are designed to give the students a chance to worship and learn together, the small groups are designed to provide an environment where questions and struggles of a spiritual and personal nature can be addressed with a few peers and a faculty member.
